About Sitting Youngsters
The sculptures show a worried boy and a comforting girl sitting across of each other. It was unveiled in 1942 during the Nazi occupation of Denmark, a time of great uncertainty and worry. The Copenhagen mayor said during the unveiling that “Many people will be able to relate to the dual emotions displayed with both sadness and hopefulness”.
