Gråbrødretorv

About Gråbrødretorv
Gråbrødretorv takes its name from a Christian religious brotherhood named “Gråbrødrene”, the “Grey brothers”. They were established here in 1238. As is the case for most squares in Copenhagen, they were used as market places for meat and fish etc. On the square you can see a water fountain donated to Copenhagen in 1971 as a celebration to the 800th Year anniversary of the city.
