Bryggebroen Bridge

About Bryggebroen Bridge
Bryggebroen bridge was built in 2006 and is 190 metres long and 5.5 metres wide. However, it is not the dimensions of it that catches your eyes when you travel across it but the locks you see hanging from the wires. Just like in other cities around the world, the romantic act of writing your names on a lock, clicking it locked and throwing the key in the water has become a “thing” here in Copenhagen as well. Interestingly, you will notice that some locks are very small. These locks are for new parents celebrating the birth of their child. On the south side, you can see two old seed silos reconstructed as residences popularly referred to as “The Silos”.
