About The Grotto and the Spring

Søndermarken contains a manmade grotto and natural spring, built as one of the English-style landscape garden’s follies, when the gardens were relandscaped in 1785-1795. The manmade grotto in stone was built near a natural spring, and the water was led through the grotto to the marshy plot south of the grotto.
