He served as Prime Minister from 1924 to 1926 and again from 1929 until his death in 1942. The monument is rectangular with reliefs on the sides. On the front, a large stylized torch as symbol of human striving. On the left: six naked men as a symbol of work. On the right: a torchlight procession of men, women and children of all ages, representing leisure time or the joy of being together. On the back: five young people dancing around a large tree full of fruits, a symbol of the future and of children. In front of the monument a circular sacrificial bowl has been let into the square containing a relief of a stylized bird, a crane.
