Ørsted park

Om Ørsted park
The park was created where the old fortifications around Copenhagen inner city used to be. The bombardements by the british navy of Copenhagen in 1807 demonstrated that the wall structure was no longer protecting Copenhagen from attacks. The northern ramparts were therefore decommissioned and turned into public parks in the late 1800s. This is why you see a beautifully terrained park with a lake going through it. It used to be a part of a protective structure and is now a favourite amongst locals for sunbathing and walks.
